Experienced defender Darren re-joined his hometown club at the start of the 2022/23 season, making the move from Hebburn Town. After helping Ashington gain promotion in his first season back at Woodhorn Lane, Loughy made 32 appearances in Ashington’s NPL East campaign last season, scoring twice. Darren started his career at Newcastle United before moving to Ashington. He left the Colliers in 2012, playing professionally in Iceland for KA Akureyri and IA Akranes, before returning to England, joining South Shields and later Hebburn Town, winning the FA Vase at Wembley with both.
